My Mission

I taught middle band for 29 years until switching gears two years ago to focus on my private studio. I taught public school for 19 years (Dripping Springs, Leander, and Austin) and private school (St. Andrew’s) for 10 years. I have been giving private lessons equally as long on wind instruments and piano. I currently play in the Austin Brassworks Brass Quintet as the principal trombonist and was the keyboardist, lead singer, and trombonist with the Old Bone Crew. I'm a friendly, supportive teacher whose main concern is that the student enjoys making music and learns much along the way. Learning to read music, having good fundamental skills, and playing/performing a wide variety of musical literature are just some of the skills we will focus on.
